Access to best practice wound management for all regional Victorians
The Regional Wounds Victoria (RWV) program is a collaborative of Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs) who are supported by the Australian Government, Department of Health and the Victorian Government. These roles provide a service to over 96% of the Victorian land mass, and whose clientele include 30% of Victoria’s Commonwealth Home Support Program (cHSP) and Home and Community Care program for Younger People (HACC PYP) clients. RWV work collectively to improve outcomes for Victorians who receive district nursing or high level care in Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services (PSRACS) by:

RWV is supported by funding from the Australian and Victorian Governments. The cHSP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health.
The Regional Wound Management Clinical Nurse Consultant Project was developed by the Victorian Department of Health in 2008 as part of the Victorian Department of Health Strengthening Wound Care Practice Management Strategy and became a permanent program following formal evaluation in 2012.
There are five regional Victorian health regions. These are Barwon, Gippsland, Grampians, Hume, and Lodden Mallee. Each of these regions is supported by a member(s) of Regional Wounds Victoria.
RWV Regions align to the Commonwealth Department of Health's Aged Care Planning Regions, with some minor changes by local agreement at some borders.
